We had a great turn out for this tour, 11 vehicles and 20 people.
6 classic cars and 5 opting for the AC comforts of a modern car!
Once we got underway we travelled through Sicamous onto Highway 1
Our first rest stop was at Craigellachie.

Unfortunately Garet was feeling under the weather at our Craigellachie Rest Stop.

He decided to return home rather than continue!

The remaining group of 18 continued to Revelstoke and south on Highway 23 to Shelter Bay ferry, where we had planned to have lunch at the picnic area at the ferry landing.

Revelstoke @ Shelter Bay Ferry

As it turned out we were slightly behind schedule and we’re on the ferry in less than 10 minutes, that is all except for Jim, who assisted the Tanners in cancelling rooms and jump starting his 1939 Oldsmobile.

Jim kept to the program and had lunch at the ferry landing, the remainder of us had our picnic aboard the ferry.

We had a 25 minute stop at Lone Falls which is between Halfway River and Nakusp.

Time to get back onto the road.

One ferry later Jim was hot on our tail!

On arrival in Nakusp we had time to check into our accommodations,  . . .

. . . have a beverage break in the pub, . . .

. . . followed by a guide tour of the Nakusp Museum.

Our accommodation for the evening.

We had diner at the Lealand Hotel Restaurant on the deck overlooking the Upper Arrow Lake.

Afterward we had free time to walk the beautiful Nakusp waterfront and tell tall tales back at the motel.

Day 2 we left Nakusp at 9:30 am on route to New Denver.

Here we toured the Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre.

The representative gave us a talk on the history of Japanese internment and an overview of everything at the memorial centre.

We had time to tour the buildings and displays.

KYOWAKAI HALL Meeting Place - Constructed in 1943. . . .

. . . KYOWAKAI translate to "working together Peacefully"

Following the Museum Tour, we had a short stop on 6th Ave at the . . .

. . . 'Laurel Tree' a fabric, yarn, gift shop just for our ladies.

Leaving New Denver we carried on south to Crescent Valley where we took Pass Creek Road through Krestova, New Settlement, Pass Creek to Robson where we had lunch at the Lions Head Pub.

ON OUR ROUTE THROUGH PASS CREEK WE LOST A COUPLE OF CARS WHICH REJOINED US AT LUNCH.

After lunch we took a drive up past the Keenlyside Dam to Syringa Creek Provincial campground on the Lower Arrow Lake.

Our own Vice-President attended with his brand new 2024 Mustang!

Returning from Syringa we viewed the many sculptures that line Columbia Avenue in Castlegar.

This beauty belongs to one of Glen's olden days buddies . . .

. . . word has it that it has a monster engine!

Friday morning after provided breakfast at the Sure Stay Motel we headed west on Highway 3 with our final stop at the Prospector Pub in Rock Creek for lunch.

Thank you to Al and Diane for taking pictures!
A fun, warm three days, no break downs, no accidents.

ON BEHALF OF ALL THE PARTICIPANTS:

A BIG THANK YOU to  Glen & Debbie for a SUPER TOUR!
